OBAMACARE, BENGHAZI, THE IRS, THE NSA AND THE 2014 ELECTIONS

Republicans-vs-Democrats

Intense media coverage of the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting has drawn attention away from four big issues that continue to plague the Obama administration—Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS targeting of conservative organizations and individuals, and NSA spying on the American people. Nevertheless, the collective time bomb is ticking. The question is will it go off during the 2014 election campaigns if it goes off at all.  (Read the full column at EWRoss.com)

WHY THE BENGHAZI STORY WON’T GO AWAY

Benghazi

President Barack Obama has been adept at deflecting Republicans’ continuing questions about the 9/11/12 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. Still, the story won’t go away because the explanations he and his administration have provided don’t add up, and a strong odor of cover up lingers in the air. It’s been five months since the Benghazi attack. Even if we accept the Obama administrations explanations for what happened before, during and after the attack, we still don’t know full story. What difference does it make, at this point, whether or not we know the full story? It makes a difference whenever the President of the United States attempts to deceive the American people.  (Read the full column at EWRoss.com)

PRESIDENT OBAMA’S FAILING REELECTION STRATEGY

Election Day is still more than six months away, but already the negative approach President Obama and his cohorts in the mainstream media are pursuing is faltering. President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign strategy is to define Gov. Mitt Romney as someone who will make the United States and the American people worse off than they are already. It attempts to brand Gov. Romney as a homophobic, anti-women, out of touch country-club Republican who wants to take America back to the protect-the-rich policies that got the country into the mess that it’s in. So why isn’t the strategy working?  (Read the full column at EWRoss.com)

WHAT THE 2012 ELECTION WILL TELL US ABOUT OURSELVES

Following the 2008 election Americans learned a great deal more about the man they elected president than they knew about him when they voted for him. The 2012 election will tell us more about ourselves than the man we elect as our president, no matter who he is.  (More)

THEY’RE RIOTING IN GREECE, THEY’RE OCCUPYING AMERICA

To paraphrase an old Kingston Trio song:

They’re rioting in Greece, they’re occupying America.

There’s unrest in China, and Middle East hysteria.

The whole world is festering with unhappy contrarians

The Islamists hate everyone, everyone hates Americans

Palestinians hate Israelis, someone hates the Dutch.

And no one likes anybody very much.

Amidst all this chaos, Americans want a president and legislators that will restore order, prosperity, and national security. It’s difficult to imagine how we can elect the right people, however, when we spend more time focusing on form than substance. (More)

ENHANCED INTERROGATION TECHNIQUES: It’s Time for a Law That Authorizes Their Use

Listen to Ed’s Audio Blog:

As we learned following the killing of Osama bin Laden, enhanced interrogation techniques (EITs) played an important role in the CIA eventually tracking him to his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound. It’s time to stop the spurious arguments about EITs and for Congress to enact a law permitting the President of the United States, and only the President, to authorize the use of well defined and limited EITs when he determines they are essential to the national security of the United States.  (More)

THE 2012 ELECTION: Handicapping Sarah Palin

Republicans will do very well in the November elections. They almost certainly will take control of the House. If this is a “wave” election, they could capture the Senate as well. Control of Congress, however, is only half the battle. If Republicans want to completely blunt the Obama agenda and set the country on a different course, they must win the White House in 2012. To do that, they need the right nominee; and, like her or not, the potential Republican presidential candidate talked about more than any other is Sarah Palin.  (More)

CLINTON VS PALIN IN 2012 – Stranger Things Have Happened

With Democrats headed for a man-made disaster in November and the Obama presidency increasingly looking like a quagmired domestic-contingency operation, speculation about Hillary Clinton running for president in 2012 is on the rise. We know Mrs. Clinton has a strong desire to be the president, but will she step down as secretary of state and challenge Barack Obama, the first African-American president and a fellow Democrat, and if she won her party’s nomination what are her prospects for winning the general election?  (More)

TRANSFORMING AMERICA

On October 31, 2008, at a campaign rally at the University of Missouri, candidate Barack Obama said “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” Not everyone took him literally. In the fourteen months since he became president, however, he has clearly demonstrated that is precisely what he intended to do. It’s what motivates his supporters and infuriates his opponents. It is the standard by which Americans ultimately will judge his presidency. (More)
