"Some people know everything, but that's all they know."

Surely, Muslims from London to Sidney aren’t burning American flags and calling Americans names because of a stupid, amateurish movie trailer hardly any of them have ever seen.  (Read the full column at EWRosss.com)

Ed…you are surely correct…in fact, i would almost rather that scenatio were the case. With the support of the American population (as “WWII”, our military could kick their collective ass…as a political fight, it becomes another bridge too far.

Discussion: US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens Killed in the Line of Duty

Ed: (1) Muslims were indeed shocked by the “Innocence of Muslims” clip, but in their vast majority did not attack US Embassies, did not attack Americans, did not burn flags, etc. Those who do hate America and Americans took advantage of this discontent to create mayhem: for these such opportunities are Godsent.

It is also a fact that the Muslim world is not mature enough yet to just ignore this kind of stupid provocation, but then the Catholic church in European countries not so long ago did try, sometimes with some success, to have such films as Scorcese’s “The Last Temptation of Christ” banned (it was actually banned in Italy) and some movie theaters were bombed for showing films deemed to be anti-Christian. Not really comparable to the reaction in the Muslim world to Rushdie’s “The Satanic Verses” or this latest clip, or the caricatures in a Danish newspaper some years ago or again in the French magazine Charlie Hebdo: no one died, no Embassies were attacked, but again it will take some time before the Muslim world can ignore such provocations.

    (2) A majority of Palestinians do accept the right of Israel to exist, though it did take them some time to do so, and the PA formally recognized Israel long ago. On August 27, 2012, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud ‘Abbas met in his Ramallah office with a delegation of rabbis headed by former Israeli minister Michael Melchior. After expressing hope that war would not break out between Israel and Iran, ‘Abbas said: “Israel was founded in order to remain and not in order to vanish, [but] its continued [existence] should not be at the expense of the absent Palestinian state.” He stressed the importance of dialogue among the monotheistic religions as a way to attain peace with security and stability for everyone.
( http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/6683.htm ). As a result Abbas was violently criticized by Hamas leaders.

You write “The Israelis even went the distance to agree to one not long ago and made Yasser Arafat an offer he couldn’t refuse; only he did refuse. How can Muslims hold that against us?”. I suppose this is about the 2000 Camp David talks where Israel did make a big step forward, but the proposal would have divided the occupied territories in three cantons separated by Israeli lines, left the issue of East Jerusalem unsolved, etc. Arafat did not reject the proposal, he was just paralyzed by indecision and missed an opportunity to go forward. The US is indeed not to blame as the “Clinton parameters” were much more satisfactory for the Palestinians -who by the way are not all Muslims. The Quartet’s Road Map largely inspired by the GW Bush administration does constitute the best basis for peace, but the current Netanyahu administration rejects some of its central tenets.

Exactly right Ed! It has little (or nothing) to do with this cheesy little film. So why oh why is the Obama administration still ‘kicking this can around’, and as noisily as possible? They look awfully foolish right now, that’s for sure!

George H. W. Bush did the right thing pushing Iraq out of Kuwait. We righteously invaded Iraq in search for weapons of mass destruction. Some folks are unhappy that we didn’t find any, but I feel that we did. Saddam Hussein was a weapon of mass destruction. I am still not convinced that there will ever be a definable victory in Afghanistan though.

  7. Ron Cooke says:

At the risk of being overly simplistic in my response, let me brutally frank. The Muslims have one overarching goal…and that is world domination. They realize that as long as the US holds on to its Judeo-Christian faith, republic form of government and remains a global power (militarially and economically) we will oppose their global march. That is why they are putting forth a concerted effort to infiltrate our government , using every PR opportunity to portray Islam as a peace-loving religion, and maximize their population in the US. They know this is the fastest way to achieve their global conquest. And the current administration is supporting the Islamic agenda at every opportunity as long as the general public doesn’t come to realize what is transpiring.

    • Bob says:

Must agree Ron. Muslim males have been behind numerous attacks, the first world trade center bombing, their successful 9/11 attack, hijackings where a serviceman was killed, killing and pushing a man in a wheel chair out of a hijacked plane, and numerous other hate crimes against the united states. I know they do not represent the mass of their religion, but the liberals needs to realize that if there was ever a justifiable reason to “profile” anyone, it is the Muslim male. There comes a time, where common sense should over ride political correctness. Our own citizens have come under more scrutiny and suspect then the hateful Muslim male.

Considering the fact that the movie was released some six months a go I can only agree. The 9/11 celebration is certainly not alien to the uprise.

In 2005 it was Danish cartoons, that took a few months for radical Islamists to notice and to start attacks on everything Danish, in 2012 it’s a movie that nobody saw – the cultural hypocrisy that attends any debate about freedom of speech where Islam is concerned is always there. But I’d also like to believe, that “better educated, middle-class Muslims in the region don’t hate US all that much.” But are they tollerant as much as we are asked to be? That there may be a nexus in this mess is an intriguing question. The most intriguing is that the plot wasn’t revealed to the actorrs, dialogued dubbed to add the objectionable part, the source of funding is unknown, and the producer is unknown.

The movie, according to most who have seen it say it;s worse than a Harvey Corman remake by Alan Smithee. Since a significant part of the movie business is run by Jewish interests, one would expect either something of the Ben Hur, Quo Vadis, or something darker. If Jewish/Israeli interests had made this, it would have attracted Anti-Arab, Islampohobic audiences such as the Left Behind folks.

It looks like a case of Grey Propaganda, one in which the source is not identified. Black uses a false flag, and white comes clean. The only predictable outcome of the end product is fury by Islamic fundamentalists and supported by the general population. Two options remain:

This was a bad job of arousing the fury of Islam by a bunch of Islamists OR

This is a good job of using a bad job by a bunch amateur Christians,

Since this was timed too close to the US election to be an accident, and that a rabid infection of the Right by Apocalyptic End of Timers is seeking to be the tipping agent that tumbles the US into Committees of Vigilance in the style of the Defenestration of Prague in 1419 and San Francisco in 1858.

Ed: I agree with your theory and just to clarify that amateurish movie wasn’t even a movie — I would have placed it closer to a YouTube clip (~13minutes). The Islamic radicals just needed a cover / excuse for their rants. These Islamic radicals hide behind religion but I cannot see ANY religion that would impose death upon anyone that doesn’t believe in what they do – totally cave dwelling mentality!

    Have a great day!
