It is always interesting to see what political ploy will be used by struggling democrats in election years to make demons out of republician candidates. For 2012, we have “War On Women”. This must be the “change” they are always talking about. Since they have worn the “Race” and “Religious” cards clear out, it was time “Change” to a new hateful theme.

Excellent piece. To believe that we would see a diminsiment of our rights under Republicans is ridiculous. Turning back the clock cannot happen as women’s rights have been acknowledged in all sectors of society and at all levels. It infuriates me that the Democrats think so little of my intelligence that they seek to make me believe this nonsense. The women who do believe in the so-called War on Women are those who are committed to the Left. Those in the middle or on the right can see this for what it is, a trumped up issue by a bankrupt party trying to support a candidate who has failed our country badly. They cannot point to any accomplishment so they are reduced to the divide and conquer tactics the are exhibiting. They are seeking to divide this country into “interest” groups – gays, blacks, hispanics, women.
As an independent woman, I have made choices all my life, the only time I was attacked for those choices is when they went against the beliefs of the oh so tolerant left.

So thankful there are thinking men and women in this nation who see through the left’s attempt to divert the narrative away from their failed policies. Its a very common movement in warfare – when in an indefensible position, you must shift the battlefield. That is where libs find themselves, and hence all the ballistic conversations they launch every couple of weeks.

I agree Dr. Tim! Thank you for posting your comment. This is not every reasoned person’s viewpoint when all of the research is evaluated.

A facebook friend & I got into a huge argument the day this came out. First she shared exactly these talking points, then she had the audacity to deny that she’s been getting her news from main stream media and isn’t regurgitating their talking points.
I’ve been saying for several months that the Dems were going to try to divert attention away from the real issues in this election and onto abortion rights. That’s what Clinton did when he was campaigning for his 2nd term…
Sure enough the candidates were ambushed with “seemingly irrelevant” questions about contraception. Then Obama decided that Catholic institutions had to start paying for birth control. And now there’s this whole fabricated “War On Women.”

as the “War on Women” Goes;
President Obama’s desperate quest for re-election has led Democrats to embrace some cynical and offensive tactics. One is perpetuating the myth of a “war on women.” It’s time for the insulting and disingenuous rhetoric to end.
The libertarian Party is absolutely committed to the policies and priorities that improve the lives of women. In contrast, President Obama’s economic policies have taken us in the wrong the direction. In the Obama economy, women are decidedly worse off.
The recent jobs report from the Labor Department had some alarming facts. The number of women employed in America declined last month as many dropped out of the work force, giving up on looking for work altogether. Of the 740,000 jobs lost since Obama took office, 683,000 of them were held by women. That is unsustainable.
Across America, women are feeling the pain of the weak economy—in the job market and at the kitchen table. Wives are worried about shrinking wages and rising prices as they try to make ends meet. Mothers fear for their children’s futures as the national debt skyrockets and college becomes unaffordable. Businesswomen are frustrated by the regulations and economic policies that make hiring impossible. Fewer women are working, and more are living in poverty. 20% More Women primarily Single moms are on FOOD STAMPS and thanks to Artificial inflation of Gasoline to drive you to green energy, cant even afford to drive to the grocery store to Use their EBT cards!
So it’s no surprise that Democrats have attempted to change the subject in this election.
Unlike President Obama, Libertarians want to enact policies that will truly jump start job creation and build a sustainable economic recovery—lower taxes, efficient government, lower deficits, less debt, and responsible regulation
Unlike the Republicans, Libertarians want the Government to stay out of your vagina and choices as well!. (as God is a much better judge than the mind of “man” in such matters)
If i may be so bold as to say That’s what’s right for women—and right for all of America.

Once again the left strikes out at a conservative woman. This time Ann Romney is in the crosshairs. A woman who raised 5 children has “never worked a day in her life”. Because she chose to stay home, apparently that negates her intelligence and her worth.
I to chose to stay home and raise my children. My husband was not rich, we had to make sacrifices but felt that it was worth it. Once again the left has proven that if you do not conform with their orthodoxy you are the enemy. Their war on women is fought by women against women.

Just heard Hillary Rosen’s apology. Loved what she termed the “phony war against stay at home moms”. Is that anything like the Republican’s war on women?

@Ed @ Renee, How stupid can you be? What war. IF there were no Republicans, there would still be slavery, men only vote, jim crow laws, etc. The Democrats and Progressives have been on the forefront of all these things. It has always been so.
This absolutely ridiculous claim that Republicans have declared war on women is just so much political posturing. And it has not place here at the Heritage Foundation. For shame for being so politically motivated that you would make up lies to prove a point.
I for one do not believe it is chauvinistic to insist that I not pay for anyone’s contraception. Nor do I believe it is my duty to share in the cost of someone having sex.
Pseudo intellectualism is rampant on the left. Substituing ad hominem attacks, name calling, lies, innuendo for true discourse is the last resort of a failed argument. If it weren’t so dangerous, you and your ilk would be laughalble.

John, have you actually read Ed Ross’ commentary, before attacking him? I believe not. “The idea that Republicans are waging a war on women, however, is patently absurd” – that’s Ed’s quote. And Renee is a consevative woman. And neither of them claim, ‘that Republicans have declared war on women’ as you say. So you’d better say, sorry.

@John. I have no use for people who cannot even bother to 1. read the article and 2 read the comments before resorting to name calling. Perhaps you should pay attention to what Lincoln said: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”
